Redditch Borough Council Election Results

Redditch Conservatives have won 7 of the 10 wards being contested in the borough election and have taken control of Redditch council from Labour.

The Conservatives won from Labour, Abbey ward by 87 votes, Batchley & Brockhill ward by 32 votes and Church Hill ward by just one vote.

The conservatives also took Winyates from UKIP and retained the 3 wards they were defending.

It is a big blow for Labour to lose control of our council and a further blow to lose two hard working councillors who have served our town well, Natalie Brookes For Batchley And Brockhill and Nina Wood-Ford in Church Hill.

At this election, 6 of the 10 wards contested had sitting Labour councillors and a swing of a fraction of 1% of the vote share has resulted in Labour losing 3 wards and control of the council.

Next year it's the Conservatives turn to defend when 8 of the 10 wards up for re-election will have sitting Conservative councillors. We'll be back!
