120 Days to Save the NHS

On a daily basis local people tell me that they are routinely waiting weeks to see their GP, waiting months for operations or waiting indefinitely for support for mental illness.  This situation cannot be allowed to continue or allowed to get worse.

This morning the Secretary of State for Health was utterly complacent about hospitals across the country declaring major incidents because they cannot cope with the winter demand.  I do not want to risk the NHS with five more years of a Conservative led government who do not prioritise a thriving NHS.

A&E waiting times are the worst they have been in a decade and that's in spite of the government changing A&E waiting targets, from 98% to 95% of patients being seen within four hours.  As it stands today, only 85% of patients at the Alex will be seen within four hours.

The NHS is a key priority for me and many people in Redditch.  Should I be elected as the next Labour MP for Redditch in 120 days, these are my pledges on the NHS.  And in the meantime I will not stand by while the NHS is systematically undermined.
